Frequently asked questions
Where does the data come from?
Ark•UP reads public data directly from the Colorado Division of Water Resources (CDSS/DWR REST API), USGS, and USBR. It is an independent informational tool — data may be provisional, and the app is not a substitute for official records. Priority status ("In/Out") is informational only and does not account for augmentation plans or exchanges.
A reading, call, or priority status looks wrong
Email us the structure's WDID or the station code and what you expected — this is the single most useful feedback we get. If the app can't reach DWR (offline, or DWR's shared request limit is used up), it shows "Status Unavailable" rather than guessing; adding your own free DWR API key in Settings gives you a dedicated quota.
Subscriptions, passes & refunds
- Plans: 1 Week Pass ($4.99, one-time — no auto-renewal, buying again adds time), 3 Months ($14.99) and 1 Year ($24.99), both auto-renewing with a 7-day free trial.
- Cancel: iOS Settings › your Apple ID › Subscriptions. The Week Pass needs no cancellation — it simply ends.
- Restore: new phone or reinstall? Tap Restore Purchases on the plans screen or in app Settings.
- Offer codes: tap Redeem Code on the plans screen or in Settings.
- Refunds: purchases are processed by Apple — request refunds at reportaproblem.apple.com.
Can I try it before subscribing?
Yes — "Explore with sample data" (Demo Mode) is free and shows every feature with a built-in dataset. The 3-month and annual plans also include a 7-day free trial.
Threshold alerts aren't arriving
Alerts are generated on your device. Check iOS Settings › Notifications › Ark•UP is allowed, and that the alert is enabled in the app's Alerts tab. Alerts are evaluated when the app refreshes data.
